Still Alive and dragging....

I can't wanna get motivated. I know I should at least "wanna" get motivated, but I just can't wanna. All I wanna do is play and sleep. I don't want to cook or go to work. (never did wanna clean, so nothing new there.) I did wanna get on here and let you know that I am still Alive. Have done a bit of creative "stuff" in the last week +. Just haven't taken pics and posted.

I will be posting my Overlooked work, and a layout made in honor of a really cool friend that passed away last August. I really miss him. One of the GOOD GUYS. Well, it is late and although I won't turn into a pumpkin (won't catch me in pumpkin orange - too close to the truth) I will drag even more tomorrow if I don't get my hiney to bed. More later.....

Oh yeah, I had to post a picture. I need the visual stimulation when I go through a blog, so here is mine. It's a picture of my scrap space from a year ago November. I will post a picture of the afterish. I say afterish because I have lots of organizing to get done. I am taking Wendy Smedley's Get Organized and Be Inspired class on Big Picture Scrapbooking. I am enjoying the class AND learning a lot about my scrapping process. Anyway, I have to go to bed, really, this time I mean it. I am going to bed. Nite, nite.

I made it through the Girl Scout Brownie Troop Scrapbook Workshop. And I am still alive. Whew. Who knew that I would get stressed over teaching a bunch of 8 and 9 year old girls!
It was an ordeal. I had the kits made. I cut the paper to size, made sure that there were enough kits for all the girls. I had this done WAY ahead of time. I think it was done by the end of November.

All I had left was to print out the words and graphics (like the ones on the Try-It layout above.) I decided to save MY printer cartridge and have color copies made at my local office supply store, but is actually a national chain store. When I got there Saturday night (the workshop was Sunday, so I am thinking I am doing GREAT at this point) I was informed that it would cost $0.89 per sheet. I needed 48 copies made. (4 sheet for each girl) I gasped out loud, and told the kind woman behind the counter that I wasn't going to pay that amount. I would rather buy a printer cartridge and print them at home myself. At this point she whispers to me that the price is going down in the morning to $0.49 a copy. Now, THAT I am willing to pay. So I decide to wait until the morning. Then I get this "brilliant" idea to compress what I have on each sheet, to make fewer copies, thus spend even less money. My publishing program shut itself off before I could finish the second page. I had printed one page. SO all was not lost. I did manage to save SOME money.

The girls had fun. They said so. Many times during and after the workshop. I was told that the leader overhead several of the girls stating that they LOVED their albums. I am SO VERY HAPPY with this news.

With the workshop stress gone, I can now concentrate on my other commitments. The ones I made to ME.

1. I want to get caught up with the BPS class I am taking. GOBI - Get Organized, Be Inspired given by Wendy S. (I'll look into her full last name later) She co-authored the book "The Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker", which I highly recommend. Even after only the first 5 chapters. Even if you don't take the class (it is too late to sign up for this session), I urge you to get the book.

2. I want to get the swap's I am in caught up. I LOVE swapping with the groups I am involved with on YAHOO. Hi Everyone.

3. I want to scrapbook. This won't happen in the real near future, but, I want to scrapbook. I signed on for the LOAD class/challenge over at BPS and have failed miserably. But, such are things at this time for me.
I WILL get to scrapping.

4. I need to call a personal trainer. I NEED to get back into shape. It's been about 14 years since I have been in shape, so this might take a bit of time. (What I really want is to wake up tomorrow and be fit again!)

Well, I guess I have taken enough of your time for one day (actually a few, because I won't BLOG again until later in the week, or weekend), SO, have a good one.

I have been so busy. I know, I know, aren't we all.

I apologize to you for not posting anything in the last week.

I don't know where the time went.

I have been re-adjusting to the full-time work, school schedule thingy.

Monday's and Tuesday's are busy for the whole family. Then the rest of the week is a blur. Playing catch up.

I am busy tonight as well. The Girl Scouts are having their Cookie Kick-Off dance. I am kind of looking forward to it too.

Saturday I have to complete the kits for the scrapbook workshop I am holding for my youngest daughters troop on Sunday. I have to print out the "words" for their books.

Here is another couple of pages for their books.

Hopefully there will be more posted sooner than next Friday.

Until then, have a Happy One.

The Best ME Challenge

I ran into this BLOG. Her name is Sarah. And I haven't met her, but I like her. I can't remember how I ended up there. You know how it is. You go to one BLOG, read a bit, go to another one listed on that site, and so on, and so on, and so on.....

This one has "A Different Kind Of Challenge" listed on it.

Week One - My List:

take that 20 minutes to actually walk on the treadmill.

have a mixed drink at home one evening, or more.

get a pedicure.

get rid of the junk under my scrap table.

watch a cartoon with my kids.

I can do these things. I just have to make the time for them. That's the point of this challenge. Make yourself the best you.

On another note, I did my layout last night. I just didn't take a picture, so I can't post it. I will though. Maybe this weekend.

Today is my baby's birthday. 8 years ago, I was in a hospital bed. Thanking GOD for a beautiful baby girl. She is a real stinker. She is my third one. And she was the only one of the three to arrive AFTER her due date. She is the one that came up with "I can't wanna".

Happy Birthday my beautiful baby girl.

Layout a Day for January - hmmm - Can she do it?

I really hope so, but don't hold your breath. I am off to a good start. Here is the layout I made last night. I personally think it may be cheating a bit because todays layout will be the partner to this one, but hey, I am going to have done one everyday this year.

I did manage to make an entry into my Gratitude Journal both days so far too. So, I am off to a wonderful start for my resolutions. (Unless you count the losing weight one. Shhh. We will discuss that another day.) I also managed to convince my 13 year old to start a Gratitude Journal. I am very enthusiastic that she even wanted to venture there. She is after all "13".

Happy New Year

I hope you will all have the best year so far.

Me and my family are off to a normal year start. The hubby and I got into it yesterday.

Probably just post holiday stress release. But it could just be PMS. Or maybe he really was being an idiot. No telling today. But we did agree on a truce, so life is good again.

We stayed up to watch the ball drop. Played games, ate snacks and watched TV. My littlest one thought she was TOO COOL. She kept telling us that she wasn't going to sleep for the rest of the year, and further she wasn't going to bed until next year. She cracks me up.

I have made the mandatory resolutions. Every year I say I am not going to get caught up in it, but it is too corny not to. And I LOVE corny things. So, I am going to:

Lose weight

Exercise

Read daily - I joined the BPS reading club, so you know what I will be reading

Scrap at least 4 times a week

Make at least 2 layouts a week - I should be off to a good start with the BPS Layout a day class

Make my own Christmas cards this year

Try to cook dinner for my family 4 times a week

Get my scrapbook room organized - Signed up for BPS class for this one

I am not the most patient person in the world, but I am going to try to be patient.

Having said that, I have to confess that I have already read "A Thousand Splendid Suns". The first book for the BPS reading club. I really am so very, very, very, very grateful to be an American Woman. I am convinced that I would be beaten daily, if not just killed in one of those oppresive backward countries. I highly recommend this book. What a story. It just tugs at your heartstrings.

I have also started a Grateful journal for 2008. I am going to try my darnedest to make entries everyday. I am getting my girls to do one too. Theirs should be good. I'll keep you updated.

Well, TTFN
